My Full Story: Why I Created Thorn & Bloom

Now, ladies, I’m thrilled to welcome you here. However, before we proceed, I need to be honest about how this space came to be. And when I say we’re here, I mean it.

You and I. Together.

But first, let’s start with me.

I’ve been sitting on this “thing” for years. This calling. This stirring. This pull. It’s been bubbling beneath the surface, waiting for the right time. And now, it’s pouring out of me. I can’t contain it anymore, and I’m beyond excited to share it with you.

Thorn & Bloom is rooted in my own journey, the thorns and the blooms.
The hard, painful, unspoken moments I’ve endured have led to deep growth and breathtaking beauty. Right now, I’m walking through one of the most intimate transitions I’ve ever experienced with God. I’ve come to a place where I truly know who I am in Him, and I know without a doubt, I cannot live this life without Him.

Here’s what I know for sure: God loves me.
He loves me with all my imperfections, all my thorns. And even when I feel unworthy, He keeps planting seeds of grace in my life. Seeds that bloom at just the right time.
Sounds dramatic, right? I know. But it’s the truth. And I love that for me.

And guess what? God loves you, too. Every bit of you. Even the parts you’ve tucked away.

If you know me, you know I’m passionate about flowers and plants. I’m a true anthophile and phytophile at heart (yes, I’m that kind of nerd!). My favorite flowers? Ranunculus, anemones, peonies, sunflowers, marigolds (especially in the fall), zinnias, and the ever-classic English shrub rose.

Now that you know what flowers to buy me, let’s talk about roses and what they’ve taught me. Roses are fascinating.
Those sharp thorns you see? They’re not a flaw, they’re a defense. A built-in protection system that guards the bloom while it grows in beauty. Roses aren’t easy to pick without paying the price, and neither are we.

That’s the metaphor behind Thorn & Bloom.
We carry thorns, not to hurt us, but to protect, strengthen, and refine us.
They represent the struggles we’ve faced, the battles we’ve fought, and the ways God has shaped us.

And then… we bloom.
We flourish. We rise into the fullness of who God made us to be.

This space is for that process.
To honor the thorns and celebrate the bloom.
To grow in faith, love, purpose, and community.
To be soft and firm, held and honest.
To tell the truth about how we got here and where God is taking us next.
